Your journey will begin on the video
monitors all around you in the rides queue area. You will receive a
welcome message from John Hammond, welcoming you to Jurassic Park he
assure you that you are safe and this will be the ride of a lifetime.
You will then get your safety instructions and boarding procedures. If
there is no line you can stand to the side and watch the videos because
they are funny to see. The safety videos for all the rides at Universal
are funny and this rides is no exception.
Now you will board your
River Raft, on your journey through Jurassic Park. Your boat will clear
the loading dock and sit for about one minute and then make it's way up
a small hill. You will pass a sign "Enjoy Your
River Adventure, PLEASE! NO Feeding, Yelling, or Flash Photography. You
are now surrounded by a tropical jungle, as your audio tour guide
Richard Kiley will begin to speak. "Time the ever flowing river...come
with us now to a time before man. When the river flowed through a new
born world and giants walked the earth." You now have cleared the turn
you will see the Jurassic Park gate, and you hear "Welcome to Jurassic
Park" the Jurassic Park theme plays as the gates doors open.
Your now entering Ultrasaur
Lagoon. "The Ultrasaurs in this lagoon, are among the largest creatures
ever to walk the earth. Yet to despite their awesome size, these gentle
giants pose no threat to us." You can see room for a second Ultrasaur,
and the audio commentary suggests there are more then one Ultrasaur.
"The (Ultrasaur"s") in this lagoon, Yet to despite ("their") awesome
size," so there should have been two but I guess one escaped.
Now you find yourself
floating to a nice little waterfall where you will be greeted by two
friendly Psittacosaurs. "Psittacosaurs, with their curved parrot like
beaks are the most primitive of the horned dinosaurs. A group of
herbivores that include Anchiceratops and the mighty
Triceratops." You then make your way through this cave on the other side
of the waterfall.
Next on
your trip is Stegosaur Springs "Great armored dinosaurs can often be
found among the few herbivore
formations of Stegosaurus Armatus. Heavy armor
plating and spiked tails, protect these herbivores
from predators of their native period. You will see a small baby
stegosaur up on a cliff crying and yelling. You then hear a louder roar
as you make your way around the next turn you will see the mother. The
mother dips her spiked tail in the water and splashes the side of the
raft, not trying to attack us just being friendly.
We are
now surround by the lush jungle atmosphere with no dinosaurs in site.
"Jurassic Park scientists provide our herbivores with plenty of
vegetation from their native period, ensuring long healthy lives for
these magnificent animals." A sign ahead reads Hadrosaur Cove but there
are no dinosaurs ahead. Then from no where on the left pops up a
Hadrosaur spitting water at the raft, down he goes "Next on our tour is
Hadrosaur Cove. Here at Hadrosaur Cove you will find a verity of
duckbilled dinosaurs such as...." another Hadrosaur
pops up on the right spitting more water at the raft.
"This is Jurassic Park
Animal Control it looks like one of the Hadrosaurs has knocked your boat
off course, you are entering the Raptor Containment Area, Please stay
seated! we'll grab your boat at the receiving dock ahead. Do not get out
of your boat!" You can see the bushes along the river moving around and
raptors screaming. You now come up to the Raptor Containment Area where
you see the cables ripped apart, sparks shooting out from the side. The
Raptors are still following the boat because you can still hear them
running and screaming to the sides of the river. You are now closing in
on the receiving dock where you see another boat with two compy's
fighting over a shirt. "Their boat's off course, base they passed the
dock do you copy? base 25 stop the boat! Grab the boat before they get
to far! Come back to me base 25!"
You have passed the dock and
are heading inside the Environmental Control Center, above the entrance
is a Raptor cage which has a live Raptor in it ready for transport. The
cage starts to rattle and the Raptor starts screaming and going crazy
trying to get out. As your passing under it a cable snaps and it almost
falls on us, good thing the backup cable held.
Now you are inside the
Environmental Control Center, and you can see the main control center.
"Warning your boat is off course" "Activate safety procedures,
Emergence....crackling sounds" You are now heading up, to the top of the
Environmental Control Center. You have made it this far so you think
you're safe then a screaming Raptor makes his way out of a room and
tries to kill you, he cannot get through the fence you keep moving on.
You are now at the peak of the climb and you see another control center
where another Raptor is ready to attack, you go down a small 3 foot drop
and head further into the building.
You are at the top of the
building leveled off and in pitch black darkness. You hear some metal
containment drums falling over and a T-Rex roar as a Raptor claws
through the wall. He most likely tried to escape the T-Rex but was
killed. You are now coming around a turn and you can see red flashing
lights and
Dilophosaurus's getting
ready to spit venom on you. There are 2 on the right side one behind
some metal containment drums,
and the other is a few feet down on top of some pipes. As you straighten
out another
Dilophosaurus appears on
the left and starts to spit on you.
Now you
can see and hear this massive 20 foot tall, life sized T-Rex, he is
tearing up pipes and roaring and is waiting for you to make your way to
him. Closer and closer you get as he gets bigger and bigger, your now
right to him as you make your way up on a steep balance track (think
seesaw when the middle of the boat is on the balance track the from will
tip and down you go) so you are on the track, the T-Rex is baring down
on you with his mouth wide open ready to grab as many passengers he can.
Then you drop down the 85-foot drop, you hit the river at 55mph creating
a huge splash that reaches heights of about 35 feet. The water comes down
on you and you get soaked as the Jurassic Park theme blares in the
background.
YOU SURVIVED!!! The River Adventure!!!
